Equinox: The Sun is at one of two opposite points called the Vernal point and the Autumnal point. An equinox happens twice each year, when the center of the Sun is located precisely over the Earth’s equator, occurring around March 21 (Vernal equinox) and September 23 (Autumnal equinox) each year.
